About Custom Printable Calendars

A calendar maker for people who want their calendar their way, with dates and holidays you can trust.

Custom Printable Calendars makes printable calendars around the dates that matter to you: birthdays, school breaks, shifts and appointments, the public holidays of your country or state, and your own photos. You choose the months, the week start, the paper and the layout, and download a PDF that prints the same on any printer.

The makers

  • Custom printable calendar maker: Pick the months, the holidays and the paper, add your own dates, and print a calendar that fits the way you plan.
  • Yearly calendar maker: Twelve months on a single sheet, starting in any month, with holidays and your own dates marked and listed.
  • Year planner maker: A row for each month with the same weekday in every column, for planning leave, vacations, terms and projects across the year.
  • Photo calendar maker: Choose a photo for each month and an optional cover, add birthdays and holidays, and download a print-ready photo calendar.
  • Birthday calendar maker: List the birthdays and anniversaries once and print a calendar that works every year, on one page or a page per month.
  • School year calendar maker: Put the school year on one page, from the first day to the last, with every break shaded and every key date listed.
  • Family calendar maker: One row for every day and one column for each person, so the whole family’s month fits on one page.
  • Shift calendar maker: Type your shift pattern once and print the months ahead with your shift on every day.

How a calendar is made

Every calendar is drawn in your browser by the same layout code, which places each line, box and word on the page in points, the unit PDF files use. The preview, the PDF, the printout and the image of a page all come from that one layout, so what you see is what prints. Text is set in Helvetica, which every PDF reader has built in (Arial, which has the same letter widths, is used on screen), and the PDF keeps lines and text as sharp vector shapes at any size. Photos are embedded at up to 300 pixels per inch (at most 3,600 pixels on the longer side).

Your dates and settings are kept in your browser so that your calendar is still there when you come back. Photos are read from your device only while the page is open. Your dates, settings and photos are never sent to us. The page loads the holiday lists, which are the same for everyone, and counts visits with a privacy-friendly analytics tool that uses no cookies and ignores the calendar details in shared links; see the privacy policy.

Where the holidays come from

The holiday lists were generated with python-holidays, an open-source library (MIT licence, copyright the python-holidays authors), and then compared one by one with each government’s own list: GOV.UK’s bank holiday data for the UK, the Office of Personnel Management for the US, and the labour laws and official holiday pages of Canada and its provinces, the Australian states and territories, Ireland and New Zealand. Where the library and the official list differed, the official list was followed. Each holiday page names its sources and the date they were checked. Lists are rechecked every December and whenever a government announces a change.

Moon phases and week numbers

New moons, first quarters, full moons and last quarters are calculated with the method in Jean Meeus’s Astronomical Algorithms. For 2026 and 2027 every phase agrees with the US Naval Observatory’s published times to within a minute. The calendar shows each phase on the date it happens in the time zone set on your device. Week numbers follow ISO 8601, explained in the guide to ISO week numbers.

Corrections

If a holiday, a date or a page looks wrong, tell us which calendar or page it was and what you expected. We check every report against the official source, correct the data or the page when we have made a mistake, and reply with what we found.
